From a cold run in the ice and snow over Offerton Moor one year in mid February. In the Peak District, February is one of the worst months for weather but also one of the most beautiful to be in and look at. There’s often snow on the tops around that time of year and my favourite tree, the Scotch pine, always looks bleak and fascinating in the sub-zero winds, the fog and the ice.
