I draw Scots pines all the time. I never get tired of the shapes that their leaves make and I never get tired of their colours. The shapes of their trunks and branches have something of the endless about them and once you know the way that they generally grow, you can make them up wholesale and they still look right. It took a few days to draw and after the initial sketch, I think imagination took over and it became what you can see. I think I stopped looking at the reference after an hour or two and just went with what came to me.
This is A3 size and its printed on Innova High White fine art cotton stock by Untitled Print here in Sheffield. Its archival quality, which means it’ll last 100 years if its stored correctly (under glass, out of direct sunlight etc.).
